I spent this day visiting Uluṟu, and much of it on a tour and then walking entirely around it, so this page is mostly plenty of photos of Uluṟu. There are parts they ask you not to photograph, which I tried to respect.

I started with a free park ranger tour, which I suspect is better than the third-party commercial tours. That lasted about an hour, and then I walked 10 more km around Uluṟu and 2+ to the visitor center. One fact I learned on the tour: Australian aboriginals may have been the first people to make flour.

One of the features looks a bit like a face, and its features are inverted, hollows in the rock. You may have seen an inverted face mold at Disney’s Haunted Mansion or at a science museum, where the eyes seem to follow you as you move across the room. This is like that, except the eyes seem to follow you as you walk three kilometers.

I hoped to make the afternoon bus back to the resort but took too long and ended up on the evening bus, which means you get bonus sunset pictures.
