Getting oriented and taking the train from the airport into the city was not
too difficult. After checking into the hotel, I walked to my usual first stop,
a Hard Rock Cafe to get a souvenir shot glass for Cathleen. Nearby, a
restaurant or hotel had their own copy of Fearless Girl, which had been
in the news for the one facing the bull on Wall Street.
I also did some walking around town to visit Summerbird Chocolaterie and
Sebastion Bruno Chocolatiers.

As best I can reconstruct from my records, I visisted the national art
museum, the Nobel Peace Center, and the history museum early in the day. That
seems like a lot, and I remember those museums, but I do not remember them in
this order or being all on one day. And that is not all. My next pictures by
time are from the Viking Ship Museum (being rebuilt as the
Museum of the Viking
Age), and then the Norse Folk Museum, and then the Kon-Tiki Museum.
Here are the pictures from the Viking Ship Museum.

Nearby is the Norsk Folkemuseum.
These photos are helping put memories into place for me; I remember a bit of
the walk from the viking ship museum to the Folkemuseum.

On Monday, I visited the Resistance Museum and walked along the Akerselva river
in Oslo, along with wandering around parts of the city.

That was the end of my first stay in Oslo. I made a loop around some coastal
cities and returned to Oslo at the end of the trip to fly home, so we will see
more from Oslo at the end of these web pages.
